XT-T1 Transmitter

One of the two most important elements of GuideTour XT system is XT-T1 transmitter. It transmits the sound by radio to XT-R1 receivers. It functions in UHF band. It is used for one way audio transmission and it is most often used for guiding groups or for interpretation. Via of a microphone connected to the mini jack input, the guide may convey the information to an unlimited number of recipients equipped with XT-R1 receivers.
GuideTour XT is a modern digital system of the highest quality. What does it actually mean? In the case of tourguides, a high quality means three basic features:
- a high operating range, which in the case of GuideTour XT, exceeds 100 metres,
- a stable sound transmission, hence transmission without any interference,
- a crystal clear sound heard by the recipient.
Operating the transmitter is very simple. It is turned on using a slide switch, and both channels and volume level are set using three function buttons. The transmitter has 4 volume levels and 19 transmission channels.
The device operates on two transmission modes that can be switched by changing the volume level. When used on levels from 1 to 4 the transmitter works in the basic mode. Switching to levels 5 to 8 activates an energy-saving mode. In this mode, it is only the sounds said directly to the microphone which are transmitted and the transmitter remains mute at other moments, which reduces the use of battery. In this mode the battery life is extended by about 20%.
The transmitter is powered by 3 AAA batteries (LR3), i.e. "triple A" batteries. High quality alkaline batteries should last about 12 hours of functioning of the device.
The transmitter has an interesting design. It is carried on a lanyard, not adding a lot of weight, as it only weighs 65 grams (with the installed 90 g batteries). GT-X1 is also rather small, as its dimensions are only: 85 x 70 x 20 mm.
